What is coaching?!
Coaching is a partnership between the coach and the client in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires the client to maximize personal and professional potential. It is designed to facilitate the creation/development of personal, professional or business goals and to develop and carry out a strategy/plan for achieving those goals.
As the coach, I will listen, support, encourage, and challenge you through each coaching session. Through pinpointed questions, discussions, and exercises, you will have the opportunity and space to learn more about yourself, come to realizations, and implement changes.
It is important to remember that you are naturally creative and resourceful and that you will be the one to ultimately problem solve.
How can coaching help me?
Think about an area of your life, or a mindset, where you feel stuck. What if you could make progress and do the things you said you wanted to do? Get that new job, establish a better habit/routine, deepen your relationship, or overcome a challenging belief? A coach is someone who is unbiased + committed to holding you accountable (without any stake in the outcome).
How does coaching promote change?
Think about times your life changed. Was it due to a conversation, an idea, a leap of faith? Coaching promotes deep reflection, ideation, and is biased towards action with defined goals.
What’s the difference between coaching, therapy, and consulting?
Coaching does not assess, diagnose, or treat mental illness, nor does it look into the past or resolve trauma. Coaching is focused on the future and establishing actionable steps to goals. At the same time, a coach does not tell you specifically what or how to do something (consulting), instead you are empowered to arrive at your own conclusions. Coaching is co-creation and collaboration.
Is coaching regulated?
No, that's why it is important to understand where your coach received their training and if they are credentialed with the ICF (International Coach Federation) to ensure they are legit.
